Missouri Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

Comprehensive Review

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) periodically conducts the Comprehensive Review of Pediatric Dentistry course over 3 days at an out of town location. Now, thanks to the Missouri Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, you can take a similar course in the comfort of your home without the travel and hotel expenses.

We are no longer able to offer the DVD’s as a way to earn CE credit from the publisher. Nevertheless, they still provide an excellent review on a multitude of topics applicable to the daily practice of pediatric dentistry.

Program Summary

This highly acclaimed course provides foundational knowledge for the practice of pediatric dentistry. It is designed as an essential review for general dentists and specialists who participate in pediatric dental oral health care. It may also be useful for new and practicing dentists preparing for American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) Qualifying or Renewal of Certification Examinations.

The program covers a variety of topics, including growth and development, assessment and prevention, oral pathology, special needs patient care, restorative dentistry, trauma, and behavior management.

The Points of Light Project

Brought to Missouri in 2011, the Points of Light project is improving all infant’s and children’s oral health by connecting them to a dental home. By clicking on this link, a dentist who sees infants and toddlers in their practice will be able to sign up as a Points of Light provider, and parents of infants and toddlers will be able to find dental offices in their area who are providing dental homes for their child. The website also has videos and information on all aspects of infant oral health including proper nutrition and tips on improving the oral health of infants and small children.
